We put new shingles on the house this past weekend and while I wasn’t on the roof at all (I am 6 months pregnant after all), I still consider it my tackle. :) I picked up lots of shingle mess (unfortunately there is still more out there) and many nails. I also had the pleasure of cooking for the crew Saturday and Sunday. We are so glad to have the project done. The shingles were in pretty bad shape and we didn’t dare to keep them on the house much longer. The kind people that had this house before us shingled over the previous shingles so my poor hubby (and some of his family/crew) developed some pretty nice blisters. Now we get to paint the house, though I’m not sure when we’ll tackle that.

Its a hard job - shingling. My boyfriend shingles for a living. He hand nails every shingle. Most big companies use power tools now :)
Your family crew deserves lots of homemade cookies for their help ;)
Would a rake work to pick up the nails and debris??? Sounds like a mess :)
